Elden Ring Streamer Who Plays With Her Mind Needs "11 Hours Of Straight Training"

Elden Ring is undoubtedly a Game that makes you use your mind. Not necessarily to solve puzzles and riddles, but even during the most basic combat instances. Knowing an enemy's attack patterns, when to block, when to roll, and when to back off are all essential if you want to sit on the Elden Lord's throne. And, while we need to use our brains for this, it can only be implemented via our hands on the controller – like every video Game ever made. However, streamer Perrikaryal has been working toward changing this formula. Last month, we reported on how the streamer has been trying to play Elden Ring via her mind, using an EEG – a device that can track and record brain activity. This is then converted to keystrokes, used to control The Tarnished. It seems like something out of a sci-fi movie, but it's just Science , and mastery over your mind – mastery that comes with hours of training THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY RELATED: I Hope Eld...

Double Fine PsychOdyssey Is A Free Documentary Following The Development Of Psychonauts 2

Developing a game is nothing short of an actual miracle. Yes, it's just a bunch of coding and animation, but getting it all together in the form of an actual functioning game is akin to magic. As you can tell, like most of you, I know nothing about video game development or how a dev team works, but we'll now be able to take a glimpse at the inner workings of a niche but beloved video game company, Double Fine Productions. The developer partnered with 2 Player Productions to create Double Fine PsychOdyssey, a documentary of the seven-year development process of Psychonauts 2 – it's out now and available for free on YouTube. Seven years is a long time – and we'll get a look at everything from early concept meetings to the release and reception of the Game . Not to mention, behind the scenes look at the team members, their relationships with each other, the ups and downs – everything. Think of a real life 'The Office' based on a video Game ...

One Scene Of The Last Of Us Ep 5 Took 65 Prosthetic Artists 5 Hours To Prepare

Spoiler warning for The Last of Us episode five, “Endure and Survive”. Thanks to the Super Bowl, many of us got to watch the fifth episode of The Last of Us early. Although we should really be careful what we wish for, because yet again, the show has reduced many of us to a sobbing mess. I suppose it's our fault for getting attached, right? Heartbreak aside, Endure and Survive was an incredibly visually impressive episode - and unsurprisingly, a very demanding one to film. In an interview with Variety following the episode's premiere, Barrie Gower, a prosthetics designer for The Last of Us, explained how the team pulled off that scene with all of the infected. And believe it or not, it took five hours just to prepare the stunt crew alone. Sonic Frontiers Director Is "Very Interested" In Adding Old Comic Characters

To an outsider, it may feel like the Sonic Game s already have a huge cast. But what if I told you there were dozens of others, some of which have never graced our screens before? Sonic the Hedgehog also boasts a huge comic book continuity, initially published by Archie, now IDW. This means there's a whole host of characters both new and old that fans want to see in the Game s. Now, an influential figure within Sega may have just given them a glimmer of home. During a Q&A with fans, Sonic Frontiers director Morio Kishimoto says that he is "very interested" in seeing the comic characters appear, suggesting that they could be included in future Game s. Related: Fans Want To See Sonic R, Sonic The Fighters, And More In Sonic Origins Plus During the Q&A, one fan asked Kishimoto to comment on the appearance of the old comic book characters, the Freedom Fighters. CDPR Is Fixing Witcher 3 Patch 4.01 Performance Issues On Console And PC

The Witcher 3's current-gen update arrived back in December and caused quite a stir. Largely because of adding a slew of new bugs to the Game in addition to several new features, a new quest, and improving the Game 's fidelity. The Witcher 3's ray tracing didn't improve anything if enabling it caused the Game to crash, and improved textures were hardly noticeable if its frame rate slowed to a crawl. After a little over a month, CD Projekt Red released update 4.01 which fixed many of the bugs introduced in 4.0. Now that the dust has settled, CDPR is now looking into further performance improvements that will bring The Witcher 3 up to where it was initially intended with the current-gen update. Overwatch 2 Brings Back Hanzo's OP Scatter Arrow For Valentine's Day

Overwatch 2 starts its Valentine's Day event, as you can probably guess, today, and it introduces a deathmatch mode called Love of Geometry. This 4v4 matchup sees everyone playing as Cupid Hanzo, but there's a catch - they can use the old Scatter Arrow ability. Eight Hanzos, all firing Scatter Arrow (thanks, Forbes). If you thought it was annoying back when it was one Hanzo per Game spamming it (usually in a small room full of unprotected healers), good luck. It was so annoying - and overpowered, often netting you headshots even if you fired at a person's toes - that it got removed. But nothing says love like rage quitting and unfair deaths. RELATED: Overwatch 2 Is Still Putting Top 500 Players In Gold Ranked Matches Of course, if you're new to Overwatch 2 and didn't experience Scatter-Arrowgate, here's some vital context. Essentially, you would fire an arrow, it would bounce off whatever it hit, duplicate into more arrows, and then all...

Fortnite Announces Most Wanted Event Featuring Heists And New Infamy System

Looks like the leaks were right. Fortnite's latest event brings back some vaulted weapons, adds some Scandal ous new quests, and even adds a "heat" system that makes it easier for other players to spot you. But the rewards for pulling this heist off will be truly primo. First, let's go over the heist. The "Cold Blooded" syndicate has taken over the Island and has set up a number of Cold Blooded Vaults. Inside each Vault is a new Exotic weapon. Problem is, each Vault needs a Vault Keycard to open, and those Keycards only come from Cold Blooded Bosses. Find the bosses, grab their keycards (by killing them, natch), and then head to the Vault to get your new Exotic gun. Exotics will have additional perks like a shotgun that's perfect at tearing through walls or an SMG that automatically reloads when you run. Dead Space Remake's Most-Used Weapon Is Unsurprisingly The Plasma Cutter

Motive has revealed the most-used weapon in the Dead Space remake, and it will surprise absolutely no one to find out that it's the Plasma Cutter. It's been close to a month since the Dead Space remake hit and to celebrate that fact, Motive has shared a bunch of stats from the community's time with the Game so far, including revealing the most-used weapon, the Necromorph that has killed players the most, how many times Isaac has been killed, and more. Related: I Can't Believe It Took Me 15 Years To Play Dead Space Perhaps the least surprising bit of news (but something worth sharing to show that good taste is still a thing) is that the Plasma Cutter is the most-used weapon in the Game so far. This isn't surprising for a number of reasons, chiefly that it's the first weapon you get and the easiest to use, but also because it just is Dead Space. At this point, the Plasma Cutter is more iconic than Isaac himself. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY ...

Haber Dasher Is A Co-Op Game You Play With A Huge, Real Life Hat

The concept of being some sort of non-human entity attempting to pass themselves off as a normal human is nothing new to Game s, but doing so while wearing a truly enormous hat? That's new. And it's super weird, and it'll be showcased at The 2023 Game Developers Conference. From Georgia Institute of Technology Ph.D. candidate Erin J.K. Truesdell comes Haber Dasher, the Game where two players don a massive hat to make an alien pass off as a human. "In Haber Dasher, two players take on the role of an alien named Zorg who is attempting to take over Earth by gaining power among the humans as a Business man," writes Truesdell. Acting like a Business man isn't too difficult--all you have to do is pick up a briefcase, get some coffee, and then head to the office. Telltale Secures Funding For The Wolf Among Us 2, The Expanse, And Another Unannounced Game

Telltale Game s has ensured its continuation for the next little while. The studio famously shut down in 2018, locking out employees and removing most of its Game s from sale. The studio returned in 2019, although it wasn't until a year later that its best-selling The Walking Dead series fully returned to digital storefronts. Now in 2023, Telltale has secured $8 million in funding that the studio says will go towards bringing three Game s to market, including The Expanse: A Telltale Series, The Wolf Among Us 2, and an un announced title. "We are honored to have the confidence of Hiro Capital, a fund that is committed to the future of the games industry, and that of our colleagues at Skybound Entertainment," said Telltale CEO Jamie Ottilie. "It’s both a pleasure and a natural fit to be affiliated with companies that share our commitment to narrative games and transmedia entertainment." THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY Related: Revisiting...

Abby's Face Model Is Still Receiving Death Threats From The Last Of Us "Fans"

Jocelyn Mettler, the face model for Abby in The Last of Us Part 2, has revealed that she still gets harassed and sent death threats from toxic The Last of Us "fans". One of the biggest examples of Game rs being unarguably toxic in recent memory (well, aside from Hogwarts Legacy) is the reaction to Abby in The Last of Us Part 2. Spoilers for a three-year-old Game here , but Abby ends up killing Joel in the opening hours of the Game as revenge for what he did to the Fireflies and her dad, which led to her being one of the internet's most-hated characters, despite Joel unarguably being a bad guy and Abby having an incredible character arc of her own. Related: Stop Being Weird About The Women In The Last Of Us It's bad enough that the fictional character of Abby became so hated, but toxic "fans" of The Last of Us decided that applied to anyone who worked on the Game too. Battlefield 2042 Gets Its Last Specialist After Return To Class-Based System

EA has just announced season four of Battlefield 2042 is on the way. Called "Eleventh Hour," the upcoming season will bring a new map, a new armored vehicle, some new guns, and the last specialist to the Game after Battlefield 2042 returned to a class-based system last month. Battlefield 2042 was a departure from the series as it went from class-based Game to character-based, with specific specialists all coming armored with unique equipment and abilities. That changed with update 3.2 when all those specialists were assigned to Battlefield's traditional four classes: Assault, Engineer, Recon, and Support. Each class has its own set of equipment and weapon proficiencies to choose from but retains its specific specialist abilities.
