Cyberpunk 2077 Mod Fleshes Out NPCs, Expands World Building
Cyberpunk 2077 is crammed with a whole bunch of world-building, having years of source material to draw upon. However, more than two years since the Game launched, there's a fair chance that many of us are all caught up on the various wars and feuds in the world of Cyberpunk, and would rather learn more about the people of Night City itself.
That's where this new mod, The Lives of Night City, comes in. Through the introduction of a load of new shards and some changes to enemy AI, the world of Night City has been fleshed out, giving its citizens more to do. The player even has more job opportunities, giving you another way to earn some eddies, and feel part of an alive and vibrant Night City all at once.
The mod isn't finished yet, but its creator, Nexus Mods user dedicated247, already has a fair amount of features listed with the current build.
One of the most significant is the new jobs, bounty hunting, civilian escorting, and taxi driving. There's also a new ambush system, in which enemy NPCs will seemingly masquerade as normal pedestrians before they attack you. This gives you a reason to scan everyone as they walk by, other than aimless curiosity.
That's far from all dedicated247 has been up to, however. On top of this, the creator has written up their own shards, adding 40 new original short stories to the Game. They'll be dotted around Night City like the rest of the shards, fleshing out the world of Cyberpunk even more. The author says that these shared will tell 12 different stories, adding a fair bit of extra content to look out for.
The mod is still in active development, so it's worth keeping an eye on if you're looking for something else to get up to in Cyberpunk 2077. Of course, on the official front, we have Phantom Liberty coming out at some point this year, so the mods should keep you busy until then.
