Destiny 2 Gets Among Us Collab And Crossover Art To Celebrate Lightfall Release

Destiny 2: Lightfall is here. The servers are all back online, and while there are the usual teething issues with any new Destiny expansion, Guardians are universally celebrating the new expansion (except for Titans, who are all still mourning the unexpected demise of Heart of Inmost Light). And to help celebrate, Bungie’s fellow Game development studios are all sharing their fan art, with one even going so far as announcing a Destiny 2 collab. Innersloth was one of the first to bust out their Destiny 2 fan art, but it turns out that it wasn't just to praise Bungie for the new expansion. The Guardian Cosmicube is a new collaboration that brings Destiny 2-themed cosmetics to Among Us. You can purchase the new cube for 3,500 beans and use it to unlock costumes that'll let you dress up like Osiris, Saint-14, or Empress Caiatl, or take a new Pet Ghost or Hive worm with you to Skeld. There are tons more cosmetics to unlock, so check out the full list on Innersloth's...

The Last Of Us Was Originally Going To End In San Francisco

There are only two episodes to go until season one of HBO's The Last Of Us comes to an end. If you've played the Game , you know where we're heading. If you haven't and want to avoid spoilers, stop reading now, as the article covers the original ending of the Game was going to be a far happier one in San Francisco. The first part of Joel and Ellie's journey concludes with the former blasting his way out of a hospital John Wick-style. He's doing it to save Ellie who is about to undergo surgery that will end her life, and then so he can get her out of the building and to safety. RELATED: The Last Of Us Doesn't Care About Realism And Neither Should You THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY According to Neil Druckmann, that wasn't the original idea. When the story was first pitched, Joel and Ellie happily settled down in San Francisco. That was revealed to Euro Game r a long time ago. However, the upcoming reveal of what to expect from The ...

MTG Players Track Down Over $250,000 Worth Of Cards In Texas Landfill

You can bet your bottom dollar that someone somewhere out there is wanting more Magic cards. In fact it's pretty much guaranteed considering the enduring popularity of the Game and the number of would-be collectors. So it is immensely sad when cards end up in landfill. This is the case of recent sets that are worth a pretty penny and one MTG fan was able to track down exactly where the cards ended up. This is a story of a modern treasure hunt. On the pics subreddit, someone posted a picture of boxes of MTG cards in a landfill in the United States. It is six pallets of cards. Doing the math: six layers per pallet, 12 cardboard boxes per layer , four display boxes per cardboard box, and so it's around 1729 display boxes in the six pallets. At $150 per box, for a conservative estimate, then this is close to $260,000 worth of product (thanks u/Mirrormn). It's an astonishingly valuable find just sitting there in the landfill. Magic fans were on the case. ...

Starfield Showcase Annoucement Is Reportedly "Imminent"

We could be about to get another Starfield release date, as a new showcase is said to be "imminent". This comes as we still only have the vague "first half of 2023" launch window to go by, with no word on when we can expect to play Bethesda's latest RPG. As per VGC's editor-in-chief, Andy Robinson, we will get a new Starfield showcase "soon". He doesn't give us a timeframe, but with Sony's State of Play out of the way, Microsoft and Bethesda have all the room they need to drop a Starfield announcement and let us know when the Game is dropping on PC and Xbox. Related: Friendly Fantasy Critic Got Me Hoping 2023 Is Full Of Bad Game s This news has dispelled some fears of a delay, as we're about to enter the third month of 2023 without an official release date. Due to this, some feared that a launch window of the first half of the year was too optimistic, perhaps pushing it back into the winter months with other big releases. TH...

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Finally Shows Gameplay, Gets Ratio'd

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League finally revealed its Game play at PlayStation's State of Play, but it isn't going down well. Arkham's rhythmic revolutionary beat-em-up combat has been ditched in favour of generic shooting mechanics complete with oodles of percentage-laden loot, drawing comparisons to Gotham Knights, Marvel's Avengers, and even Crackdown 3. Using the 'Return YouTube Dislike' addon, you can see that the trailer has 2,000 likes compared to 5.2 thousand dislikes, and that disparity can also be seen on IGN's upload of the same trailer, with 4.6 thousand likes to 6.2 thousand dislikes. Take one glance at the subreddit and Twitter, and those dislikes are manifesting in exhaustion and disappointment. RELATED: The Great Pleasure Of Yakuza Is How Campy It Is The generic gunplay is one of the key problems people have, given that it means King Shark uses a minigun (rather than being a beefy melee bruiser) and Captain Boom...

Half-Life's Long-Awaited Ray Tracing Mod Is Out Now

The original Half-Life remains an incredible experience. The pacing, the surprises, the ineffable sense of place and atmosphere that Valve created for the Game . While the 1998 title was remade by third-party developer Crowbar Collective a few years ago, with the excellent Black Mesa, there is still something special about the original. And now a mod is available that transforms Half-Life into something that is that much more lit. That's because a PC mod for the original Half-Life has released that adds realtime path-traced ray tracing to the game. Translation? Once installed, Half-Life is going to look a lot more dramatic and beautiful. It's the work of creator Sultim Tsyrendashiev (sultim-t) who first teased the project more than a year ago. His Half-Life 1: Ray Traced mod is now live on GitHub. And the creator also showed off the impressive work in a trailer. Mighty Doom Turns Classic FPS Into An Adorable Top-Down Shooter March 21

A lot of you are probably not going to be too happy about a mobile Doom spinoff, what with their habit of turning beloved franchises into ad-spewing microtransaction machines. But we’re going to give Mighty Doom a chance because Bethesda has been relatively good with its mobile Game s and a toy version of the Doomslayer is awfully cute. Mighty Doom comes courtesy of Alpha Dog Games, a Nova Scotia-based developer that joined Bethesda in 2019 and has been working on the mobile Doom game ever since (in fact, we got a sneak peek back in 2021 with some early testers breaking their NDAs). The game itself promises to be as action-packed as Doom Eternal, but slimmed down and simplified for mobile. It's got a top-down camera, one-touch controls, and one path for your little toy Doomguy to travel. Along the way, you'll blast cartoonish Imps, Pinkies, Cacodemons, Revenants, Lost Souls, and various other flavors of Doom demons into itty bitty gory bits. It’s cute but grues...

Players Discuss Game Series Which Are Too Big To Fail

Players have been discussing video Game s that are too big to fail, diving into the details about the qualities of a series which make for the most resilience. The conversation remains ongoing, but a couple of conclusions have already been drawn by the community. Video Game series are known for their ability to evolve and expand with each new iteration, but not all of them are created equal and some in particular seem to have the ability to survive and thrive despite occasional missteps. The news in this particular case comes from a recent thread on Resetera which takes a look at series that have stood the test of time, continuing to be successful despite some average or even poorly received entries. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY RELATED: Marvel's Avengers And Games That Are Too Big To Fail The most well known series to fall into this category is probably Assassin's Creed. The series has definitely received some negative reviews in the past, but has ma...

Skyrim Mod Adds Walking Cabin With Quests And Weeping Angels

How would you like a Skyrim mod that adds a quest where you go find a hut that walks around the forest, talk to a fully-voiced witch, and then search through a labyrinth where statues of weeping angels will kill you if they manage to get close enough? If that sounds fun, then I've got the mod for you. Baba Yaga and the Labyrinth adds a whole new "fully voiced quest to discover the mysteries of a walking hut, a soul cairn maze, weeping angels, and a witch." The mod is available over on Nexus Mods courtesy of creators wSkeever and Kreiste. Related: This Week In Modding: Final Fantasy 14 Malware, New Fallout 4 Expansion, And More As you might’ve guessed from the name, the walking hut seems to have been heavily inspired by the legend of Baba Yaga from Slavic folklore about a witch living in a hut that walks around on giant chicken legs. In the legends, Baba Yaga is a terrifying figure but is often as much help as she is hurtful. She's depicted as a Mysterio...

Embracer Group Is Taking Fewer Risks After Saints Row Flop

Sorry Saints Row fans, don't go expecting another instalment anytime soon. In a recent financial report, publisher Embracer Group says that it is knuckling down on which projects get greenlit, suggesting that it is going to take fewer risks. From now on, it says that each game it publishes will have to "earn its right to exist". This comes as Embracer admits that Saints Row had a "lower return on investment" than it would have liked, going on to suggest that it "underperformed". Therefore, it seems unlikely that another Saints Row Game would "earn the right to exist", putting the series on ice once again. Related: Video Game s Are Too Expensive To Be This Disappointing Embracer hasn't released Saints Row's sales figures, but it's safe to assume that they are much lower than the company would care to admit. The report pins the Game 's failure on its mixed reception - sitting at a dire 2.9/10 user score...

Adin Ross Asking People To "Act Black" In Latest Example Of Streamers Being Awful

Former Twitch and current Kick streamer Adin Ross recently uploaded a YouTube video where he went on Omeagle and asked people to "act Black" for $100. When they would refuse, he'd up the amount to $200. When they'd eventually do it, he would then shout "Yo! You’re racist!" as if this was some big 'gotcha' moment. It shows that the current generation of streamers hasn't learned from the pitfalls of YouTube's 'social experiments', which were often racist, misogynistic, homophobic, or a combination of all three. As reported by Dexerto, the infamous streamer uploaded the video to his YouTube channel on February 16. Titled 'i told strangers to act black for $100', it's just lacking the often memed (gone wrong!), (gone sexual!) suffixes.
